Live Broadcast Producer / Operator
Live Broadcast Producer / Operator
Working primarily with OBS Studio, you’ll help manage the technical side of our live broadcasts — including video sources, graphics, audio, stream quality, and the overall flow of the production.
This is a hands-on position with real responsibility, but we’re prepared for experiential learning. We can teach our specific broadcast workflow. We’re looking for someone with the aptitude, reliability, and attitude to learn it.
What You’ll Do
- Operate OBS Studio during live sports broadcasts
- Manage cameras, scenes, scorebugs, graphics, and video assets
- Monitor announcer and program audio
- Monitor stream quality and connectivity
- Troubleshoot technical issues during live production
- Coordinate with announcers, camera operators, and the executive producer
- Assist with setup, system checks, and shutdown

Live Means Live
A camera can disappear. Audio can suddenly stop working. An internet connection can become unstable just as the game gets interesting.
We don’t expect you to know the answer to every problem immediately.
We do expect you to stay calm, think through the problem, communicate with the team, and work toward a solution while keeping the broadcast moving.
Reliability, judgment, preparation, and composure matter every bit as much as technical knowledge.
What Will Help You Succeed
- Familiarity with OBS Studio or similar production software
- Strong general computer and technical aptitude
- Ability to learn new software and hardware
- Good situational awareness and multitasking
- Basic familiarity with audio/video production
- Interest in streaming, broadcasting, gaming, technology, or sports
- Dependability and Friday-night availability
Experience with live sports, ATEM switchers, audio production, scorebug systems, networking, or prof
More Than a Seasonal Gig
This position begins with high school football, but strong performers may have opportunities to work additional sports seasons and take on expanded production responsibilities as Varsity Stream Media grows.
You’ll gain hands-on experience solving real production challenges and developing skills that translate into broadcasting, livestreaming, video production, and digital media careers.
